Review: ELF Studio Makeup Remover Wipes.

Now you all know how much I LOVE ELF products!

And I really really really really wanted to love these, but the more I loved it... the more it wouldn't love me back :(

On to the basics!

According to the website:

Gently and easily cleans skin to remove all traces of makeup and dirt, even waterproof mascara. Great for on-the-go travel. Gentle cloths are soft and soothing for even the most sensitive skin. Infused with Aloe Vera Extract for deep hydration and moisture. 20 Pre-moistened cloths included.

Now, like I said, I really really wanted to love these. But... it was just... not working out. I tried everything to get these to work out for me, and I thought I had finally found it! I hadn't touched them for 3 months and the top wipe worked perfect. But I soon found out that all the wipes under it weren't as dried out as the top one. So what was I suppose to do? Use one wipe every three months?!

LiKES:
  • Price
  • How it PERFECTLY removes cream eyeliner
  • The texture of the wipe
DiSLiKES:
  • The scent
  • The oily feeling it leaves behind
  • How soaked it is in solution
  • How it makes your eyes sting!
I've recently discovered my eyelids are oily (remember, I just started with makeup so I don't know what my skin type is besides the fact that my cheeks and chin are visibly dry), which might explain why pencil liner smudges on me. I use cream/gel eyeliner because we all know, those don't move! So I'm always on the search for a good makeup remover.

The ELF Studio Makeup Wipes did a great job of removing my cream/gel eyeliner swiftly and easily but it's so soaked in solution that if ANY of it gets into your eye, its going to sting. Painfully (I worry about the Gas Chamber in Basic Training, I'm sure it'll feel like getting ELF Makeup Remover in your eye. I'm sure my husband won't stand for this stinging feeling over going into the Gas Chamber again lol. YES this is how painful it is)! I've tried everything to get the wipes to dry out a little bit, but the solution seems to be a bit oily so maybe that's why it tends to stay moist and cling on to the wipes. That's another thing that bothers me, the oil residue it leaves behind! It makes you feel like you were dipping your hands in cooking oil and wiping it all over your face.

So after a year or so of trying my best to make the best out of this product, I'm gonna have to let it go. I wish it did work out for me, and I hope in the future they'll be able to fix these problems. This product has the potential to be perfect.

I sound like I'm breaking up with someone lol.

I feel like they clean, but leave a type of residue. :/

I never used them on my actual eye, but my hand and cleaning cosmetics.
