I was going through my Google Reader and I found someone posted this link.

I think it's pretty lame when people have so much time on their hands that they feel the need to bash other people. But to make an entire site out of it? I never really understood why people hated on guru's. I'm sure they worked hard to get where they are, well, most of them anyway (I say some because I remember when Holly had 3 videos and over 10k subs. I'm not hating, I'm just saying. I actually really like her videos). And I really never understood why when they're sponsoring a product they're considered to be "selling out". 

I'm part of many communities that review products. Everyday products, books and makeup. And out of the three, it seems that in the makeup community it's the only place that you're likely to get bashed if you're sponsoring a product. All other communities don't really mind that much. You always have the choice to buy or not buy something. Maybe the reviewer did find the product to be better than a high end product. I know I prefer ELF brushes over MAC ones, but I know not everyone feels that way. 

This is part of the reason why I stopped doing videos, I always felt like I had to dress up to do one video. I had to do something this way or that way. Justify this product over that product and it was just too much energy. And it didn't feel welcoming. I know most of my friends will tell me to ignore all that nonsense and just do what you like doing. But I don't know, after awhile, I just didn't enjoy it anymore.

Which is probably why I changed the name of my blog. I want to review things other than makeup. I still want to show you guys my hauls and rave about something new I fall in love with... but I want to rave about other products I discover or fall in love with (or hate) too. I feel bad for neglecting this blog so much, but my current class has been kicking my ass (Psychology if you're wondering, this is the 3rd time I'm taking it, thank goodness I'm passing this time)! I'll get to go on break in five weeks and believe me, I couldn't be more excited! And of course, the holidays are coming around and that means all the holiday stuff is going to be coming out! Well, some of it is already out, but you know, a more justified reason to buy it :).
