Day 4 - Books!

Since December is a much colder month, there is nothing I want more than to cuddle under my blankets and read a book. With fuzzy socks and a space heater and all!

As I've mentioned a few times, I've gone back to reading during my free time (which might explain my lack of active-ness here) and I've read a few good books this year, however Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is my favorite read of December this year. It's such an adorable story and when I closed it, I literally hugged it and sighed. I've never done that before, ever. It was so weird. I highly suggest this book if you're in a cuddle-under-the-covers-with-fuzzy-socks mood!

BRAIN of MKZbooks.com

I was recently gifted with a $25 gift card for mckenziebooks.com and what they are is an online book seller that sells used books. While the books they sell are used, there are a ton that they offer that are in brand new condition. They also offer a few new release books as well as older books at 80% off (and they also have a clearance section where most books are for sale at $1.99)! I managed to find a copy of Eyes Like Stars and The Clearing! The books are also nice and neatly organized, the site is extremely easy to navigate through and I found myself spending hours browsing the huge selection they have. Also, they list the condition of the book so you're able to see notes on the books conditions before you buy.

MKZbooks.com offers a new service called BRAIN which stands for (Books Recently Added Inventory Notice, cool huh?) and what it does is you make a book wishlist and when they get that particular book in stock, they'll notify you that it's up for sale on the website. You're able to set preferences on the book you're searching for such as the condition you prefer.

I made my order a few hours ago and I enjoyed how fast and easy it was to make my purchase, browse the selection and find books. I'm impressed with the wide selection as well as the new releases they had listed! So if you're interested in saving some money and itching to buy new books, I would highly suggest searching through mckenziebooks.com, you'd be surprised what you'll find there!

New books!

I haven't been hauling much makeup, at least... not as much as I use to. I've been trying to get back in touch with my roots... reading. I use to spend a ton of time reading when I was younger. I guess that all stopped when I started getting busy with 16hr shifts at my previous job. I started reading again when my husband left for Basic Training last year, I have to admit, having a husband can prevent you from reading some days! And having a PC in your room probably doesn't help either. But I'm happy to say, I've been finishing a few books this month and it feels great!

  •  Stealing Heaven by Elizabeth Scott
  • A Brilliant Madness by Patty Duke
  • To Serve My Country by Jenna Turnipseed

I've finished To Serve My Country and I'll be doing a review on it on my book blog here. You can also check out my book blog if you want the latest news on my book reading adventure. I'm also an Amazon Associate so if you're interested in purchasing any of the books I've mentioned, please feel free to let me know!

I had the pleasure of meeting Patty Duke while she was in San Francisco with the Wicked musical cast performing as Madam Morrible (my favorite Madam Morrible, in fact) and I'm sad to had found out she wrote this book after I met her (she was leaving the production that following Sunday along with Eddy Rioesco and Natalie). I probably would had much more to say to her if I knew prior to meeting her. But she is a sweet little lady and an extremely talented actress. I'm excited to start reading her book soon!

Are you into reading books? What's your favorite book? Or your favorite author?
